A Local Mental Health Advisory Council (LAC) offers individuals, parents, families, and providers the opportunity to make a real difference in how mental health care is provided in their community by offering county and state policy makes the wisdom of those who experience mental health concerns first-hand. LAC’s meet on a regular basis to discuss experiences of and opportunities for people living with mental illness in their area. It is a great opportunity to learn advocacy and problem solving skills while also getting connected with other like-minded people in your area.
